How long the job takes will depend on which type flooring you choose. Installing a pre-finished floor doesn't require sanding and therefore takes less time. How much floor you're installing also plays a big role, as well as the layout of the room. Generally a typical installation of a large room with pre-finished flooring will take one to two days whereas an installation with unfinished flooring requires sanding and finishing and will take about 3 to 4 days to complete. To give you a better idea of how long your particular job may take, let us know how many rooms you have and what type of flooring you want to install.
We will try to keep the work space as clean as possible, however if you're having a large installation, then you can expect some clutter as the work is being done. If your particular job takes more than one day we will remove tools and clean up before we leave, so you can have access to the room if needed. If your having pre-finished floor installed, after the work is finished we will remove trash from the room, vacuum the floor and clean it with Bona floor cleaner, leaving you a professionally installed floor that is ready for furniture.
You will have to remove all the furniture in the rooms receiving new flooring before the work begins. We do offer help with some items such as couches, large bookcases, things that can be moved quickly. If you are installing a pre-finished floor and there will be no sanding or finishing, then some items may stay in the room if necessary and be shifted from side to side. You will need to let us know in advance so we can discuss how to work around any items.
Most people never feel the need to leave their home while the work is being done. If your job takes more than a day to complete then we will remove most equipment and clean up before we leave so you may have access through the room if needed.
